Pony Pals is Southside Pony Club’s signature beginners program, giving children a safe, fun and welcoming introduction to horses—no experience or horse ownership required.
Aligned with the Pony Club Australia Education Syllabus, the program teaches the fundamentals of horsemanship through hands‑on activities, including safe handling, grooming, groundwork and basic horse care. Sessions are designed to be educational, confidence‑building and engaging for young learners.
* Pony Pals focuses on building confidence, knowledge and connection through horsemanship and equine education. This program does not include riding lessons.

The program includes coverage under Pony Club Australia’s insurance program, giving participants peace of mind with 24/7 Personal Accident and Public Liability protection while involved in Pony Club‑approved activities.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Southside Pony Club is an authorised Play On! Sports Voucher activity provider, meaning eligible families can use their $200 Queensland Government Play On! voucher to help offset the cost of the Pony Pals program.
Queensland children aged 5 to 17 are eligible for one voucher per financial year.

All participants will be required to wear long pants and enclosed sturdy shoes.
As the program is limited to six weeks, we are unable to refund or provide make up classes.
The Pony Pals program is aimed at educating young horse enthusiasts on the importance of care and equine health.
Whilst there will be weekly engagement with horses, riding lessons do not form part of the curriculum.
